We're Hiring a Constituent Liaison (Full-Time)
The Constituent Liaison position is an exciting opportunity to work directly with Ward 3 City Councillor Andrew Yule and his team, supporting residents and helping shape the future of the ward. As the bridge between the community and City Hall, you will help facilitate meaningful dialogue, resolve issues, represent the office at meetings and events, and ensure residents stay informed about local projects and initiatives.
Key responsibilities include:

Engagement with residents to answer questions, escalate and address concerns, and provide updates on local projects and initiatives.

Build and maintain relationships with Community Associations, local organizations, businesses, and advocacy groups, helping to share information and solve issues collaboratively.

Work alongside City of Calgary Administration to identify challenges, propose solutions, and ensure practical, lasting outcomes.

Roles & Responsibilities
Constituent Engagement & Issue Management

Serve as the primary point of contact for residents reaching out to the Ward 3 office, responding to inquiries and concerns via phone, email, web submissions, and letters.

Collaborate with the Ward 3 team, City Administration, and civic partners to ensure constituent concerns are thoroughly investigated and effectively resolved.

Maintain accurate records of interactions and outcomes using Outlook, Dynamics 365, and telephone, ensuring timely updates to the Ward 3 team on emerging issues and developments.

Conduct on-site visits within Ward 3 to meet residents and gain firsthand insight into community issues (*reliable access to a vehicle is required).
Community Representation

Represent Ward 3 at community association meetings, local events, and administrative sessions. (This work will include occasional evening or weekend availability.)

Share updates and information with community associations, local groups, and residents to keep the community informed.

Relay emerging and ongoing issues to the Ward 3 team, keeping Councillor Yule informed and briefed on resident concerns and community priorities.
Special Projects

While experience or familiarity with municipal governance, urban planning, or local policy is an asset, your enthusiasm, adaptability, and commitment to serving the community are equally valued. Being a resident of or having a connection to Ward 3 is also considered an asset. Because the position includes travel within the ward and time in the community and at events, access to a dependable vehicle is necessary.
About Us
The Ward 3 team is tight-knit, adaptable, and collaborative, supporting one another across a wide range of tasks and responsibilities. While each person has defined duties, there is some flexibility to step in where needed and contribute to the office’s overall success. Team members are encouraged to take on projects that align with their interests, build new skills, and grow professionally within the role.
This is a full-time position (37.5 hours per week), with some flexibility in how those hours are structured. The majority of work takes place during regular weekday hours, with some evenings and weekends required to attend community association meetings and events. The role is based out of the Ward 3 office at City Hall, but does allow for some opportunities to work from home.

Compensation: $72,000 – $85,000 annually, commensurate with experience, plus benefits and vacation.
