Ward 3 Planning & Development

Learn about key developments underway in Ward 3 and what they mean for our growing communities. Explore major projects, see what’s being proposed, and understand how these plans support and expand the neighbourhoods we call home.

For more information, or if you don’t see the project you’re looking for, please visit the City of Calgary’s Development Map, which shows all land use and development applications citywide. Use the interactive map to find projects, review plans, and share your feedback. Resident input plays a key role in helping guide the decision-making process, helping shape the future of our communities.

Area Structure Plans in Ward 3

An Area Structure Plan (ASP) is a long-term planning document that guides growth and development of undeveloped lands into a complete community. An ASP is the first step in setting general land use concepts and establishing overarching planning policies that guide the development of unserviced lands within Calgary’s city limits. This development from “dirt to door” happens over a long time, typically from 20 to 30 years.

Ward 3 currently has five ASP's at various stages of implementation and approval. As work progresses, we will continue to share updates and let residents know when there are opportunities to learn more and provide feedback.
