Council recently began a structured leadership transition process following the announcement that Chief Administrative Officer, David Duckworth, will be stepping down from his role.
As Chair of the Chief Administrative Officer Recruitment and Appointment Sub-Committee, I was pleased to convene our first meeting on Monday. During the meeting, we elected Councillor Wyness as Vice Chair, selected Boyden Canada to support the executive search process, and formally welcomed George Cuff as our external advisor.
I am especially grateful to have Mr. Cuff’s guidance throughout this process. His decades of experience in municipal governance, executive leadership, and recruitment have helped many organizations navigate important leadership transitions. His wisdom and practical advice will be an invaluable resource as we work to identify the right leader to help guide Calgary through its next chapter.
Our next meeting takes place Friday, June 12th, where Mr. Cuff and the committee will begin developing the position profile for Calgary’s next Chief Administrative Officer.
More to come a this process moves forward.
