Phase 1: North Central Area Structure Plan - Have Your Say

Updated: May 7

The City of Calgary is creating an Area Structure Plan (ASP) to guide the future development of the North Central lands. The plan will establish a long-term framework to ensure future development such as new homes, businesses, services and amenities is predictable, balanced and efficient, and will help shape how this area grows and develops over the next 20 to 30 years.

The North Central ASP will guide the location of future residential and mixed-use areas; employment land uses and community amenities as the area develops over time. The plan area covers approximately 1,046 ha (2,585 acres) and abuts the northern boundary of Calgary with significant areas being south of Rocky View County.

The project includes engagement with key participants such as developers, landowners and Rocky View County and will also feature meaningful public engagement opportunities to capture feedback and key concerns from area residents.

Planning well for the long-term, sustainable development of these lands will help ensure we continue building a great city for all Calgarians, now and into the future.
