She Governs 2026 - Applications Now Open

She Governs is a civic leadership program presented by The City of Calgary in partnership with Equal Voice Calgary. Now in its seventh year, the program invites young women and gender-diverse youth to explore municipal politics, leadership, and public service through a hands-on experience at Calgary City Hall.

Applications to participate are open now through February 6, 2026.

Thirty students in Grades 9 to 12 will be selected to participate in a full-day program where they will take part in a Model Council meeting, engage with local leaders through a Speakers’ Panel, and build practical knowledge about how municipal government works. The program is designed to help participants understand civic decision-making and see themselves as future leaders in their communities.
