The City of Calgary Issues Fire Advisory

Due to the recent high temperatures and dry conditions, there is an increased risk of grass and wildfires. The City of Calgary is issuing a fire advisory, effective immediately.

While no restrictions are currently in place, Calgarians and visitors are asked to use extra caution when using open flames or any solid-fuelled appliance such as fire pits, barbeques and campfires. Keep a water source near every fire and fully extinguish fires after use.

“We ask that everyone be vigilant when disposing of smoking materials, ensure that all open fires are supervised and keep fire pits a minimum of three metres from property lines and combustible materials”, said Fire Marshal Glenn Baxter. “We will continue to monitor conditions and will update the fire danger rating as needed.”
