East Coventry Water Infrastructure Access Improvements

Earlier this week, our office was made aware of construction work happening along the creek bank in East Coventry. After speaking with City Administration, we've confirmed this work relates to updated water services access to infrastructure in the area, within the existing utility right of way. It is not related to WestCreek's development application.
What's Happening
Water Services is undertaking work within the existing utility right of way to improve access to critical water infrastructure that supports water service to the City of Airdrie. The work involves improving an existing access path currently used by Water Services crews to access infrastructure for inspection, maintenance, and operational response activities. Construction is occurring within the established utility right of way.
Why This Work is Needed
The work is being undertaken to ensure continued safe and reliable access to critical water infrastructure. Maintaining all-weather access is necessary to support ongoing operational activities and to allow crews to respond effectively to maintenance and emergency requirements associated with this infrastructure.
Environmental Reserve impacts
Construction activities are taking place within the existing utility right of way and are focused on improving an existing access route. At this time, we are not aware of impacts beyond those associated with upgrading the existing access path.
Please Note: This work is NOT related to the WestCreek Development application for the East Coventry lands (LOC2025-0212). This is a City of Calgary Water Services infrastructure project.
