North Central Transit Review: Have Your Say

Calgary Transit is taking a close look at bus service in North Central Calgary and we need your input on what comes next.

As part of the City's ongoing commitment to improving transit, a comprehensive review of bus routes in the North Central Transit Service Review (TSR) area is underway. The goal is to make service better, smarter, and more connected - including building on the new MAX Green rapid transit investments, improving connections to high schools and other key destinations, and aligning routes with the long-term vision set out in RouteAhead, Calgary Transit's long-term strategic plan.

How did we get here?

Before proposing changes, Calgary Transit conducted a thorough review of how transit is currently operating in the area.

This process included evaluating:

  • Ridership and route performance data

  • Current coverage and service gaps

  • Areas where routes overlap or duplicate each other

  • School catchments and School Express route use

  • Important destinations and areas that may be underserved

  • How well existing routes align with RouteAhead principles

Feedback was also gathered from transit customers and operators, including input collected through 3-1-1, social media, Calgary Transit's contact channels, and the Ward 3 office.

Based on this review, proposed changes have been developed that aim to improve overall service, strengthen connections, and give customers more flexibility across the North Central area.

Have your say

Residents are invited to review the proposed changes, see how they might affect the routes they use today, and explore the overall area network map to get a sense of coverage and connections across North Central Calgary.

Feedback can be shared on as many routes as you'd like, including the overall network connectivity, by taking a short survey.

Talk to Calgary Transit in person

Additionally, two in-person community engagement sessions are being held so residents can learn more about the proposed changes and speak directly with Calgary Transit staff. Stop by anytime during the session times to participate
